Two weeks later we were learning the sounds for the triplets "er," "ir," and "ur". They all make the supER sound. So the children were invited to dress as superheros any day that week. Mrs. Jacobsen did have her Superteacher cape on but there are no pictures (so sad). Morgan dressed up three out of the four days.
A classroom blog to keep our students and parents informed of all that is happening in Mrs. Jacobsen First Grade class.

Shiver Me Timbers- There Be Pirates!
Ahoy thee mateys! We were studying the "AR" sound which pirates so love to say "AAARRRGH!" The children were invited to dress up as pirates since Mrs. Jacobsen dressed everyday as one. Here are a few pictures.
Jeremiah dressed up each day!
Jack Hartman
The children were singing, dancing and having fun at our Jack Hartman concert. We often listen to his songs in the morning. Two particular favorites are: "There Once Was a Pirate" and "Tooti Ta Ta".
Here are some pictures. Note the teachers even got into the groove.
